Section 1-Teams -Teams consist of 4 players. -Each team will have the following for each game: 1 pitcher, 2 fielders, and 1 Designated hitter. -Positions may be changed at any time for any player.
Section 2-Pitching -One foot must be on or behind the rubber, and one foot must be in front when the ball is released. -All pitches are "Junk" until the count reaches 2 strikes. -One "gas" "heat" or "speed" pitch may be thrown per count, and it must be called. -If you call one of the above, and do not throw the pitch, it will still count as your one oppurtunity for that count. -Any pitch that its ANY part of the chair (Including the back legs), or goes through the holes in the arms, is a strike. -Any ball that is UNQUESTIONABLY going to hit the chair, AND the batter makes and the batter doesn't make an attempt to dodge is a strike. If he makes an attempt it is a ball. -A foul tip with two strikes that hits the chair will result in a strikeout. -There is no such thing as a walk, 4 balls is a new count. -Balks do not exist in wiffleball.
Section 3-Hitting Hitting rules vary depending on the location of the game, and will be explained, in full, by the owner of the field prior to each game.
Section 4-Fielding -In order to field a ground ball for an out, the following must occur. -A fielder must field the ball without it hitting the ground after hand contact. -The ball must be fielded BEFORE the double line, regardless of body position. -A double play can be achieved by: -Fielding a ground ball and hitting the chair in the air when a runner is on first or second. -Catching a fly ball and hitting the chair in the air when a runner is on third.
Section 5-Game Rules -Home/Visiting team is determined by coin toss. -All games are 5 innings -A game must complete 3 WHOLE innings for it to be official -3 outs per inning
Section 6-Equipment -Bats must be WIFFLE brand yellow bats -They may be taped in any manner -Nothing will be allowed inside the bat -Nothing besides tape will be allowed on the outside of the bat. -Any bat that is in question will be broken down, and if it violates league rules, the offending team will be forced to forfeit that game. -Balls must be WIFFLE brand balls -Balls may be broken in/scuffed -Any ball with a crack of more than 1/4" is illegal. |
